After 23 years in Dallas, The Court Reporting Institute of Dallas (CRID) has decided to spread its wings and open a new college in Houston. CRID is presently the largest, most successful court reporting college in America and CRID plans to replicate its success and commitment to quality in Houston.
The Court Reporting Institute of Houston officially opened its doors on August 12, 2002 and began offering a “teach-out” to those students who were enrolled in Shirley Baker Career Institute when it unfortunately closed. The first new class of students at the college started on October 14, 2002. The college will be offering an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Court Reporting.
The college is operating out of temporary space while construction proceeds on a new 15,000 square foot “state-of-the-art” campus. The campus will be located at 13101 Northwest Freeway (Hwy 290), just east of the Hollister/Tidwell exit. Plans are under way for a Grand Opening that will be scheduled for mid to late November. Invitations will be mailed out once a date is finalized. We look forward to serving the needs of the Houston area reporting community and encourage you to get to know our college!
